WHAT WAS YOUR JOURNEY TO PRACTISING AT THE BAR?
My legal journey has been a winding one with many twists, turns and unexpected paths.
Before entering the legal profession, I had a successful career in IT, working as a web developer and IT specialist. These roles honed my analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail—qualities that have been invaluable in my legal practice.
I later transitioned into law, starting as a paralegal working on debt recovery and litigation matters before qualifying as a Solicitor in 2017. As my expertise in debt recovery and enforcement litigation grew, I took on managerial roles, leading teams, training paralegals, and handling complex cases. I’ve always enjoyed problem-solving and finding the optimal strategies to get the best outcome for my clients. These experiences helped me build a strong reputation in the field.
In 2020, I qualified as a Solicitor-Advocate. Working full-time as a court advocate on hundreds of hearings sharpened my courtroom skills and prepared me for the next chapter in my career. In 2024, I was Called to the Bar—an incredible achievement which was the culmination of 10 years of work and effort. Now, as a Barrister, I continue to refine my advocacy skills, take on more complex cases, and provide the best possible representation for my clients.
WHAT DOES YOUR TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE FOR A FORTNIGHT LOOK LIKE?
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of representing clients across various civil litigation areas, including mortgage possessions, landlord and tenant disputes, insolvency, personal injury claims, contractual disputes, and consumer credit matters.
I would say my typical caseload is a mixture of the above - I attend 5-10 hearings a week involving a mixture of trials and applications / interim hearings.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BENEFITS OF BEING A MEMBER OF 25 CSC?
Being part of 25 Canada Square Chambers is an incredible experience. I get to collaborate with a strong professional network, take on high-quality advocacy work, and gain exposure to a wide range of legal matters.
I have access to high-quality clients from well-known companies and high street banks, local councils and major housing associations which may not have been possible without 25CSC.
There is excellent support from the clerks to the admin teams, finance and IT departments, which allows me to focus on complex and high-value cases rather than back-end operations.
25CSC makes you feel valued.
OVER THE NEXT FEW YEARS, WHAT ARE YOU AIMING TO DEVELOP IN YOUR PRACTICE?
I am keen to deepen my expertise in insolvency and financial disputes, particularly in commercial and enforcement litigation. However sometimes the work chooses you and not the other way around!
I look forward to growing my practice and making a meaningful impact for my clients.
